October's Qualification games took place. The Challengers next week will be: Honzik1 (FFA), Asylum (Insta), TC (Capture), FU (mixed team in CTF), FK & TC (iCTF). Congratulations!
We had to face some server-chrashes this week which are connected to the small RAM we have on the PSL server. We will try to change the server during this week, to have it as stable again as usual. Nothing will change for you, the addresses etc will stay the same.
Then we had to decide if we allow for more than one team from one clan in CTF or iCTF Qualification matches. For this month we decided to say yes. Thats why FK and TC came up with two teams. For the following months we decided to run a poll again among all clans that have participated in PSL this year. We just believe it's better to hear what you think on that issue. Please participate.
As a small basis for you to decide on here comes what we can tell you from the past and what arguments roughly there are in favour and against it:
History: The question is not new to PSL. About a year ago we decided to disallow two teams from the same clan after we had a case in capture where team1 of the clan helped team2 to qualify. In Capture this can really easily be done in the all-vs-all game, by having the second team helping the first to keep their bases. Thats why we won't ever allow it again in capture. However, in CTF and iCTF there is no way to directly help the second team as the all-vs-all is all about who frags most. Thats why we we come up with this poll here. If the poll should show that the majority is in favour of 2 or more teams, there is one thing that we will connect to it: If you show up with two or more teams and qualify, the exact same players have to play the Title Match the following week. Otherwise it would favour big clans too much.
Argments in favour of 2 or more teams from one clan:
- rather weeker players from big clans get a chance to play in PSL, too
- The more teams participate, the more realistic the result will be in terms of which team is really the best
Arguments against 2 or more teams from one clan
- It will be harder for small clans to qualify
- The more teams participate in the all-vs-all, the less will make it in to the quick 5min games.
Ok, please discuss it in your clan and tell your clanleader to write an email with the subject "CLAN POLL" to the email you sign up with (participate @ ...) and let us know if your clan is in favour or against 2 or more teams. Send one e-mail per clan ONLY, otherwise you might not count in the poll. The poll ends in a week, that's Sunday, October 11th.
One last thing about the update of the homepage today: der_andi already went to bed and did something wrong when he tried to upload the screenshots. Therefore many of them are not available yet. He will fix this soon.
